Friction mechanism. Red/white/black/grey litho tin cycle, Gigio’s head on tank, telescopic forks, front/rear cut-out tin wheels with 'X' spokes and heavy street tread tires. Vinyl-covered wire handlebars protrude each side. Topo Gigio's vinyl head with molded hair and neck scarf. He wears red/white striped sweater, green pants, white gloves and black/white lace-up shoes. Driver wheels are concealed beneath tin chassis.

) long.
Condition:
Worn litho with a few markings and spots here and there. Otherwise, fine to very fine overall condition and perfect working order.

opo Gigio was the lead character of a children's puppet show on Italian television, in the early 1960s. The character was created by artist Maria Perego in 1958 and its popularity spread to the world after being featured on Ed Sullivan's weekly TV show in the
U.S.
Today Topo Gigio still has a cohort of faithful fans, and has become an icon of Italian pop culture.
